Designed by master craftsman Erik Greiffenhagen, the Morgan Classical Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece features a large, round chamber and open throat for a rich, warm tone. Unlike many modern soprano mouthpieces with smaller chambers and more restricted throats, the Morgan Classical Soprano follows a more traditional design.
Although designed primarily for classical playing, larger tip openings are available for jazz players looking for a warm, dark soprano sound. Its free-blowing response and excellent intonation make it an excellent choice for both modern and vintage soprano saxophones.

Wonderful quality mouthpiece. Plays beautifully.
I have been trying to find the mouthpiece that could achieve both the tone in my head and response across the full range of the horn that I needed to achieve the sound i wanted out of playing soprano sax. After trying LITERALLY 18 different mouthpieces (some of them more than once) and being unhappy with all of them, this Morgan Classical mouthpiece in 3C is the holy grail I've been trying to find. The pure smoothness of tone, the warmth throughout the FULL range (instead turning into a duck quack half way down the staff), the response in both the low and and the highest notes and even altissimo, the solid intonation across octaves, and yet flexibility to maneuver the pitch as desired, the comfort in the mouth and just the right amount of back pressure and yet free blowing feel. Many of the pieces I tried checked one or two of the boxes but there was always something missing to complete the package. This one hit the mark on every single requirement for me and I could not be happier. Thank you so much. I will be shouting this brand from the rooftops (or on miscellaneous social media platforms anyways). If you're wondering if this mouthpiece could be the one, don't wait, do it now, you won't regret it.
Awesome mouthpiece.
I am very thankful that Dave recommended I try the 3C soprano mouthpiece. After experimenting (and not having success with) larger tip opening mouthpieces, I've found that the 3C is a great fit for this amateur saxophonist. I had not played soprano in about 23 years, so the fact that this is such a warm, versatile, and free-blowing mouthpiece is much appreciated. My soprano setup is significantly stronger than my setup for alto or tenor: 3.25 Legere Signatures are a nice fit, and I am experimenting with Vandoren blue box 3.5s and Java Red 4s. My intonation is much better now, but most importantly, I am truly enjoying playing this little beast and am feeling more confident about my sound. I think that I would have been okay with a 1C or a 2C, but the 3C is still a great fit for me. I highly recommend trying any Morgan Mouthpiece, but especially the Classical if you're a soprano player (or a doubler). Thanks to all at Morgan Mouthpieces for such excellent products and great customer service!
The 1C classical soprano is s wonderful mouthpiece! I have been playing various Morgan mouthpieces for over 30 years and though Ralph is gone, the quality is still there, probably even better! I still have my old Bilger-Morgan 1C to compare.
