The Morgan Excalibur Tenor Indiana Model was inspired by the early Babbitt-era Otto Link mouthpieces produced in Indiana shortly after Babbitt acquired Otto Link. It combines that traditional large-chamber jazz concept with Morgan’s slender, streamlined Excalibur body.
The result is a dark, rich and centered tenor sound with added edge, quick response and strong projection. The flat clam-shell style baffle adds power and brilliance while the large round chamber helps preserve body and tonal depth.

Choosing between the Excalibur Indiana and Jazz Indiana Models?
Both are inspired by early Babbitt-era Indiana mouthpieces, but they offer different playing experiences.
The Excalibur Tenor Indiana uses Morgan’s slender body and thin interior walls for a quicker response, more focus and additional edge.
The Jazz Tenor Indiana uses a more traditional full-size hard rubber body for a broader, fuller traditional jazz mouthpiece feel.

Handcrafted the Morgan Way
The Morgan Excalibur Tenor Indiana Model is handcrafted from our proprietary 100% pure hard rubber, molded and cured to our specifications.
Rather than relying on CNC machining to create the finished interior, our craftsmen shape and finish the facing curve, tip and side rails, chamber and baffle by hand. Each mouthpiece is individually finished and voiced for response, balance and consistency.

Trial Policy
Choosing the right mouthpiece is personal. That's why Morgan Mouthpiece Company offers a 10-day trial period, giving you the opportunity to play a Morgan mouthpiece on your own instrument, with your own reeds and in your normal playing environment.
Your 10-day trial begins the day you receive your shipment. Shipping time to you does not count toward the trial period.
Compare Up to Three Mouthpieces
Not sure which model or tip opening is right for you? You may purchase up to three mouthpieces in different models or sizes for a side-by-side trial.
Keep the mouthpiece you love and return the others during the trial period.
If you keep at least one mouthpiece, you'll pay just one flat restocking fee on the mouthpieces you return:
- USA customers: $25 total
- International customers: $35 total
This flat fee applies to the return, not to each individual mouthpiece, as long as you keep at least one mouthpiece from your comparison order.
Taking Care of Trial Mouthpieces
Please keep all trial mouthpieces in clean, like-new and unmarked condition.
- Use a tooth patch on each mouthpiece to prevent bite marks and scratches.
- Remove the tooth patch before returning the mouthpiece.
- Do not sand, refinish, alter or modify the mouthpiece in any way.
- Return the mouthpiece with its original packaging, ligature, cap and any other included accessories.
Mouthpieces showing bite marks, scratches, damage, alteration or excessive wear may receive a reduced refund.
Restocking Fees
Restocking fees depend on whether you purchase a single mouthpiece or several mouthpieces for comparison.
Single Mouthpiece Orders
If you purchase one mouthpiece and return it for a refund:
- USA customers: $20 restocking fee
- International customers: $25 restocking fee
Comparison Orders — Return All Mouthpieces
If you purchase multiple mouthpieces for comparison and decide to return all of them, a restocking fee of up to $20 per mouthpiece may apply.
Mouthpieces returned in clean, like-new condition will not be charged more than $20 each in normal restocking fees. Mouthpieces showing bite marks, scratches, damage, alteration or excessive wear may receive a reduced refund.
How to Make a Return
Please return your mouthpiece during the 10-day trial period using a trackable shipping service, such as USPS or UPS.
Customers are responsible for return shipping. Morgan Mouthpiece Company does not provide prepaid return shipping labels.
Please pack the mouthpiece carefully and include all original accessories and packaging.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method after the returned mouthpiece has been received and inspected. Applicable restocking fees or deductions will be subtracted from the refund.

Care Instructions
Clean with 3:1 water/vinegar ratio and buff with soft cloth. Do not immerse mouthpieces containing cork. Use spray bottle with solution, avoiding cork area and dry and buff with soft cotton cloth.

We offer free standard USPS shipping on orders over $200. We use Fedex on International orders for a shipping fee of $45. We limit the number of mouthpieces per order to 3 (since they are handmade).

We know if can be difficult getting the right mouthpiece on the first try. We're happy to exchange models/sizes to suit your needs. For USA customers, an $8.00 return shipping charge applies when we exchange to a new item. For International customers, the return shipping charge for an exchange is $45.00. Other charges may apply based on price variances in the mouthpiece(s) being exchanged. A waiting period may apply depending on availability of exchanged model.

These pieces are fantastic. They play easily due to the perfect facing. The tone is big and robust with capacity for beautiful softs contrasted with an edgy loud. Altissimo is no problem while low subtone notes speak easily. It's hard to put the horn down it plays so well.
The Indiana has a superb response, just the right resistance. The tone is very adjustable, it subtones very easy and what I like the most; it can take huge amount of air. The shipping to Europe was very fast, I got it in 5 days! Thanks for a high class mouthpiece and great customer service!
