The Morgan Jazz Soprano Large Chamber was designed by Morgan craftsman Erik Greiffenhagen and inspired by the large-chamber soprano mouthpieces of the early 20th century. While many modern soprano mouthpieces use smaller chambers and more restricted throats, this model takes a more traditional approach with a large, open chamber.
The result is a warm, dark and full-bodied soprano tone with a free-blowing response and excellent intonation. Its shortened shank also helps provide more flexibility when positioning the mouthpiece for proper tuning on both modern and vintage soprano saxophones.

Jazz Soprano or Jazz Soprano Large Chamber?
Both models are handcrafted from pure hard rubber and designed for a traditional soprano sound, but their chamber designs serve somewhat different purposes.
The Jazz Soprano uses a more conventional chamber design and is a versatile choice for players looking for a responsive, balanced soprano mouthpiece with a traditional jazz character.
The Jazz Soprano Large Chamber features a larger, more open chamber and shortened shank. It was specifically designed to help with intonation and tuning on many older vintage soprano saxophones, where modern mouthpieces can sometimes be difficult to position properly. On modern soprano saxophones, the large chamber also provides a darker, fuller and more traditional tonal character.
If you play a vintage soprano with tuning or mouthpiece-position issues, the Large Chamber is an excellent model to consider. If you play a modern soprano and simply prefer a dark, full-bodied sound, the Large Chamber is also a great choice.

Very nice, I was using a Meyer 7M on soprano, which sounded great in the upper register but was very resistant and thin sounding in the lower octave no matter what type of reed I used. The Morgan fixed all that, equally buttery in all registers. After playing on the Morgan for 10 minutes, I switched to back to the Meyer which then just sounded like a kazoo in comparison. A definite keeper!
Absolutely great mouthpiece. Best intonation on my soprano I have ever had
Plays really well for pitch and sound! I bought it for use as a classical mouthpiece, and it should handle that nicely, so I would say it’s a good candidate for a do-it-all mouthpiece. My only comment would be that I wish the shank were slightly longer; it’s not a problem at all, but it is quite a bit further out (1/8 to 1/4”) on the cork than my other soprano mouthpieces.
Exceptional mouthpiece. Like all mouthpieces, you know from the first run up and down the horn if it will work. Nice darker edge to the soprano that I like. Crafted very well, smooth, no rough edges. Nice BG ligature, cap and pouch included. Word of mouth/piece still means something these days.
verygood sound!
thanks!
