The Morgan Special Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece begins with something that simply isn't being made anymore: a genuine new-old-stock vintage mouthpiece blank originally produced for Brilhart.
Decades ago, Runyon Mouthpieces manufactured both finished mouthpieces and blanks for the Brilhart Mouthpiece Company. When Runyon eventually ceased operations, a quantity of unfinished vintage blanks remained.
In 2025, Morgan Mouthpiece Company acquired a substantial inventory of these original blanks, including a number believed to have been produced for Brilhart Ebolin/Special baritone saxophone mouthpieces.
These blanks were never finished into playable mouthpieces. Until now.
Handcrafted from Vintage New-Old-Stock Blanks
Each Morgan Special begins with an original vintage plastic blank believed to have been produced for a Brilhart Ebolin/Special baritone saxophone mouthpiece. The facing, tip and side rails, table and interior are then individually finished by hand by Morgan craftsmen.
This is not a reproduction of a vintage blank or a newly manufactured copy. The foundation of each Morgan Special is an actual unused, new-old-stock blank that has been in storage for decades.
Because the supply of original blanks is finite, production of this model is inherently limited.

Important Notes About Vintage Blanks
Because these are genuine new-old-stock blanks that have been stored for many years, cosmetic condition will vary slightly from piece to piece. Minor characteristics may include:
- Light surface scuffs
- Minor scratches
- Original mold marks
- Other small cosmetic imperfections associated with long-term storage
These cosmetic characteristics do not affect the performance of the finished mouthpiece and are part of the nature of working with vintage new-old-stock material.

Morgan Mouthpiece 10-Day Trial Policy
Morgan Mouthpiece Company offers a 10-day trial period on standard Morgan mouthpieces and sizes offered through our website. That's why Morgan Mouthpiece Company offers a 10-day trial period, giving you the opportunity to play a Morgan mouthpiece on your own instrument, with your own reeds, and in your normal playing environment.
Your 10-day trial begins the day you receive your shipment. Shipping time to you does not count toward the trial period.
Custom-Order Mouthpieces
Custom-order mouthpieces and custom-order sizes are not eligible for return or refund under our 10-day trial policy.
Custom sizes are made specifically to a customer's requested specifications and therefore cannot be returned simply because the player decides they prefer a different model, tip opening, facing, or playing characteristic.
Custom-order mouthpieces are still covered by our warranty for workmanship and performance-related issues. If you believe a custom mouthpiece has a manufacturing defect or is not performing as it should based on the agreed specifications, please contact us so we can evaluate the issue and determine the appropriate solution.

Try Up to Three Mouthpieces
Not sure which model, facing, or tip opening is right for you?
You may purchase up to three Morgan mouthpieces in different models or sizes for a side-by-side trial.
Play them in your normal environment and compare them on your own instrument.
Keep the mouthpiece you love and return the others during your 10-day trial period.
If you need a tip opening, facing, or other specification that is not offered as a standard size on our website, please contact us before placing your order to discuss the available options.
Restocking Fees
Our restocking fees depend on whether you purchase one mouthpiece or several for comparison.
Single-Mouthpiece Order
If you purchase one mouthpiece and return it for a refund:
- USA customers: $20 restocking fee
- International customers: $25 restocking fee
Multiple Mouthpieces — Keep at Least One
If you purchase multiple mouthpieces and keep at least one:
- USA customers: $25 total restocking fee
- International customers: $35 total restocking fee
This is a single flat fee for the returned mouthpieces, not a fee charged to each individual mouthpiece.
Multiple Mouthpieces — Return All
If you purchase multiple mouthpieces and decide to return all of them, a restocking fee of up to $20 per mouthpiece may apply.
Taking Care of Your Trial Mouthpiece
Because our mouthpieces are handcrafted and individually finished, please take care of your trial mouthpiece while evaluating it.
During your trial:
- Use a tooth patch to prevent bite marks and scratches.
- Remove the tooth patch before returning the mouthpiece.
- Do not sand, refinish, alter, or modify the mouthpiece.
- Keep the mouthpiece clean and in like-new, unmarked condition.
- Return the mouthpiece with its original packaging, ligature, cap, and any other included accessories.
Mouthpieces returned with bite marks, scratches, damage, alteration, or excessive wear may be subject to an additional deduction from the refund.
How to Make a Return
Your return must be shipped during the 10-day trial period.
Please use a trackable shipping service such as USPS or UPS. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Morgan Mouthpiece Company does not provide prepaid return shipping labels.
Please pack the mouthpiece carefully and include all original packaging and accessories.
Once your return has been received and inspected, your refund will be issued to the original payment method, less any applicable restocking fees or deductions.
Exchanges
If you would like to exchange your mouthpiece for a different Morgan model or size rather than receive a refund, please contact us with your order information.
We'll be happy to help you find a better fit.

Clean with 3:1 water/vinegar ratio and buff with soft cloth. Do not immerse mouthpieces containing cork. Use spray bottle with solution, avoiding cork area and dry and buff with soft cotton cloth.
